There is a lot to celebrate this week in the Solana Art Community.
Record primary and secondary sales, another successful launch on CODE Canvas, the Exchange Art team in overdrive helping onboard artists, and Collector is pushing the boundaries with their regular drops. And then we have the outstanding quality art being minted by our talented artists. On a somber note, the closing of FormFunction has hit us hard. The ff team has contributed to the launch of many fine artists, all of whom now have the daunting task of importing all work onto Exchange Art
One door shuts, others open.
Foster Marketplace is the new kid on the block. It promises to be "Solana's first DAO-governed NFT marketplace and streaming protocol for art and music". Interesting to note that FM is planning a native utility token $LIFT with a number of use cases.
John Le has had an amazing week. Firstly with achieving an astonishing 1500 Sol sale on the secondary market with his piece #014 The First Collection, and then selling his Claynosaurz artifact 'Spraycan' for 700 Sol. Code Canvas successfully launched their second collection 'Scenes from a Train Window' by generative artist StudioYorktown. All 524 Artworks were minted for 10 Sol each and produced an amazing array of colourful pieces.
Night, Snow
Collector pushed the boundaries with the latest drop 'Film is Alive- vol i' featuring the work of 13 incredible photographers. The fun of this drop was the "Burn to Reveal Party" keeping those that minted in suspense for hours.

There were notable moves from collectors this week. FreeLunchCapital adding the John Le #014 to his collection and iamkadense passed $100K invested in Art on Solana with his latest purchases. BrenzCrypto added Xolo by SCUMSOL to to their collection, SolFatee became the proud owner of Hot Head #063, Zonkel added a zen0m to his collection.
And finally Hawksnest announced the winner of their PFP competition, a collection of 25 personalized PFPs for wallet council members
1st place Tainaker, 2nd Lahseminit, 3rd subterrestriall. It's a bear market, collectors may be spending more time on the sidelines, However the upside is that sales are still being made, artists continue to build portfolios and connections remain of paramount importance.
